Yeah, I'm doing it: I'm blogging about a poster for a movie.
USA Today has released "the first look" at the official poster for Revolutionary Road, the movie. (Will this be a movie or a film?)
I have to admit, when I envisioned the lighting and colors in the home of the Wheelers, I did imagine it to possess this quality. I even imagined April and Frank dressed in this manner. However, that type face has got to go. It's like they're trying to reassure RevRo newbies that this "isn't simply another period piece."
Oh, well, the whole point is to get them to read the book. I'll give them each a Chiclet just to accomplish that goal.
Sans serif always gives off that chicklit feeling, doesn't it? I know it may seem like a minor thing, but I agree with you 100% -- I'd much rather see a Courier-like font in its place. I'm a bit terrified that the movie isn't going to live up to the book. Who am I kidding -- there's no way it'll live up to the book. But if it gets more people to read Yates, that's not a bad thing, is it?
BTW, here's a post I made about Yates on another blog:

Sung,
I think you've expressed my sentiments precisely:
"Who am I kidding -- there's no way it'll live up to the book. But if it gets more people to read Yates, that's not a bad thing, is it?"
It's all about getting people to read it.
I'll check out your other post. Thanks for visiting.
