A fan of author Richard Yates.
I'm just a fan of Richard Yates, hoping to share my thoughts about the author and his work, as well as link to some relevant news along the way.
For the past couple years, I've stumbled regularly into the local bookstore and tried to clear them of their Revolutionary Road and Easter Parade copies. They end up presents for friends. However, the way these books will destroy you, they could easily be bane for enemies.
I also man a MySpace for the guy at www.myspace.com/fansofrichardyates-- hoping everyday he's not turning over in his grave as a result -- and the popularity of the page dumbfounds me.
Perhaps professors are wising up and teaching this guy. Perhaps Seinfeld fans know that Larry David was Yates' son-in-law. Or perhaps it's the upcoming movie adaptation of Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio (which I've affectionately nicknamed "RevRo").
Probably a bit of all and more to come of the latter.
